Since 2009, The Colorado Health Foundation has generously supported the Patient Safety Education Program for Residents. Regina Kilkenny, Senior Medical Education Officer has provided her expertise, leadership and vision to help shape the curriculum and program overall.

Regina KilkennyRegina Kilkenny is Senior Medical Education Officer at The Colorado Health Foundation, a large foundation dedicated to making Colorado the healthiest state in the nation by increasing the number of Coloradans with health insurance, ensuring they have access to quality, coordinated care and encouraging healthy living.  In this role since fall 2008, Regina leads its graduate medical education programs to increase the primary care workforce and increase the number of underserved Coloradans who receive integrated health care. 

Prior to the Foundation, Regina served the University of Colorado for 20 years, most recently as Associate Dean for the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Assistant Professor Attendant in the school’s then-Department of Preventive Medicine and Biometrics (now the Colorado School of Public Health).  She advised the Dean and Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs and other school and campus leaders on policy matters and provided operational support to critical initiatives within the school such as academic affiliations, program accreditations, external relations, and communications.
